Application to Exhibit

Why put in a display case exhibit? Because you can help us fulfill our mission to educate and engage the public’s knowledge and interest by providing labeling and brief discussions on a wide range of topics that interest you.

Beautiful rocks and minerals displayed in a box can be enchanting, but consider the visitor’s perspective: will the display be meaningful without any labels or descriptions?

If you would like to include a display case at the next show, please complete the appropriate form(s) below. Be sure to note the different types of forms available. The deadline for submitting exhibit display applications is 30 days before the show begins.

Before filling out any forms for application to exhibit, read and/or print the download of the “Exhibitor Advisory and Supplemental Rules”

There is also a competitive display case exhibit offered by the Portland Regional Gem and Mineral Show. Note that PRGMSA’s competitive form follows AMFS Uniform Rules. Please read the instructions for the forms carefully.

It is recommended to download any of the exhibitor/display PDF forms below

Print the form on your home printer and fill it out by hand. Once you have completed the form, take a photo of it using your phone or laptop. Send that photo via email to the address provided on the form, or you can mail the printed form as instructed in the PDF documents below. This way, you will keep a copy of the form and have all the necessary details.

If you are entering a case that is considered a society or club case, you must use the print-out forms below and cannot use the online entry form.

Loaner cases will be available, each fitted with liners covering the ends, back, and bottom, but without risers. They include LED lighting. Please indicate on the form if you would like a loaner case.

CASE SETUP: Between 12 noon and 8pm on the Thursday before the event opens.

Case lighting should not exceed 150 watts per case. Please use LED lighting where

For competitive case judging, refer to the AFMS Uniform Rules Book. Please note that this document is quite large and can only be downloaded from the AMFED website. Additionally, specific PRGMSA competitive exhibits have their own special rules and requirements. For example, the Single Faceted Stone and the 4 Mini Groups have specific guidelines. Keep in mind that the forms for the 4 mini groups indicate they will be judged according to the AFMS Uniform Rules. If you plan to display any of these items, be sure to obtain the special rules promptly.
